I am an Linux system administrator from Czechia with focus on infrastructure sovereignty (I’m not a big fan of ‘cloud’), security and monitoring.
I have over 7 years of professional experience in environments ranging from big hosting companies to small NGOs and collectives.
Together with my friends and comrades, we are able to put our technical skills to meaningful use in the NoLog.cz collective, supporting local environmental, social and antifascist movements while also providing privacy-friendly tools for the general public.
In 2024 we started the first democratic IT cooperative in Czechia - druit.org, which is now my main source of stress, as well as excitement, joy and income.
I take care of finances and other non-technical operations in these organisations when I’m not busy managing servers. In other activist collectives I also gained experience with logistics, crisis management and dealing with high-stress situations.
In the fall of 2024, I got married and took my wife’s surname. Until then, my name was Matěj Divecký.
